Overview

Add Barista ("we", "us", or "the platform") connects baristas and coffee shops so they can discover each other and arrange work. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is stored on your device and on our servers, and the choices you have.

Data We Collect

• Account data: name, email, and role (barista or shop owner).
• Barista profiles: photo, bio, phone, city, address, location coordinates, skills, certifications, availability, and hourly rate.
• Shop profiles: business name, logo, description, contact details, address, location coordinates, and positions needed.
• Connection & hire records: messages you send, the status of connection requests, and agreed hiring terms.
• Payment data: processed by Stripe; we never store your full card number on the device or our servers.
• Usage data: approximate device and browser information used to keep the platform secure and reliable.

How Data Is Handled on Your Device

The app runs in your browser. To keep you logged in and to remember preferences, it stores a small amount of data locally on your device:

• Local storage & session storage: your authentication token and UI preferences (such as the last language you selected). This stays on your device until you log out or clear your browser data.
• Cookies: a minimal set used for authentication and session continuity.
• Cached content: profile lists and images may be cached on your device so the app loads faster.
• Form inputs: any text you type into a form is held in memory only while that screen is open and is not saved to your device unless you submit it.

You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser settings, or by logging out. Clearing this data will sign you out and reset preferences, but will not delete your account records from our servers.

How We Use Your Data

• To show your profile to the other side of the marketplace (baristas see shops, shops see baristas).
• To deliver and track connection requests and hiring records.
• To process connection-fee payments through Stripe.
• To send notifications and support messages related to your activity.

Sharing, Transfer & Disclosure of Google User Data

We do not sell your data, including any data obtained through Google APIs. We share, transfer, or disclose Google user data only as necessary to provide and improve our application's functionality. Specifically:

• Google account data (name, email, and profile picture) is used solely to create and authenticate your account on our platform.
• Stripe — for processing payments related to connection fees and subscriptions.
• Hosting and database providers — to store and serve your profile and activity records.
• Legal compliance — when required by law, court order, or government regulation.

Google user data is not transferred to any third party for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than operating our application. Location data is used solely to show nearby profiles and is not shared with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data, including Google user data, only for as long as your account is active or as necessary to provide our services. Our data retention and deletion practices are as follows:

• Active accounts: Your profile and activity records remain on our servers while your account is active.
• Account deletion: You may request full deletion of your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile screen or by contacting the Add Barista team. Upon deletion, your personal data — including Google account information — is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
• Inactive accounts: Accounts inactive for more than 24 months may be automatically deleted along with associated data.
• Device data: Deleting your account also clears all locally stored data (tokens, cached content, preferences) from your device.
• Legal retention: Certain records may be retained beyond account deletion where required by law for financial or legal compliance.

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact the Add Barista team through the platform.

Use of Google User Data

Any data obtained through Google, including your name, email address, and profile picture, is used exclusively to provide and improve our application's functionality. Specifically, we use Google user data only to:

• Create and authenticate your account on the Add Barista platform.
• Display your name and profile picture within your account settings.
• Facilitate connections and communication between baristas and coffee shops.

We do not use Google user data for advertising, selling to third parties, transferring to external services, or any purpose unrelated to providing or improving our application. Google user data is not used to train machine learning models or sold to data brokers.

Data Protection Mechanisms

We implement the following security procedures and technical measures to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your data, including Google user data:

• Encryption in transit: All communication between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS/SSL (HTTPS) to protect your information during transmission.
• Encryption at rest: Sensitive data stored on our servers, including authentication tokens and profile information, is protected using industry-standard encryption.
• Access controls: Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only, with role-based permissions and audit logging.
• Token security: Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device and transmitted only over encrypted connections. Tokens are never shared with third parties.
• Payment security: All payment details are handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant. Full card numbers never touch our servers or your device storage.
• Regular security reviews: We conduct periodic security assessments to identify and remediate vulnerabilities in our systems.
